About Adams County

Adams County is a county located in the state of Colorado. Adjacent counties include Arapahoe County to the south and Jefferson County to the west.

The first documented settlers in the area came to strike it rich during the gold rush of the 1800's.  In 1902, voters approved creation of Adams County.  The County was named after Alva Adams,  Colorado's governor who was in office at the time.

Points of interest include the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge and Barr Lake State Park.
