COTTAGE GROVE, Minn. (May

to announce it is the only residential and commercial

who educate consumers on choosing environmentally friendly

Green Seal Certified Replacement
Glass Windows
Andersen Windows, Inc. (commonly spelled as Anderson
Windows, Inc.) is the first and only ENERGY STAR replacement
window manufacturer to receive Green Seal Certification,
including certification of all Renewal by Andersen®
windows. Green Seal is a national nonprofit environmental
organization that helps consumers choose eco friendly
products. Renewal by Andersen® windows meet Green
Seal’s environmental standards in the following
areas:
• Energy Efficiency
• No use of heavy metals in the frame or sash
materials
• Packaging with at least 25% post-consumer material
• Consumer education materials that show proper
use and installation
• Clearly labeled performance data
Renewal by Andersen® Commitment
to the Environment
“To earn certification, we demonstrated that our
window and door replacements meet energy efficiency
requirements and are manufactured and packaged in an
environmentally conscious manner,” said Craig
Evanich, president of Renewal by Andersen®. Green
Seal estimates that if all windows in the U.S. were
as energy efficient as those made by Andersen Windows,
Americans would save up to 2.5 percent of the annual
U.S. energy consumption—an estimated 200 gallons
of oil for every household in the U.S.
Renewal by Andersen® Boston does its
part by ensuring proper installation for residents of
Lexington, Framingham, Shrewsbury, and Boston, Massachusetts
(MA), as well as Bedford, Windham, Concord, and Derry,
New Hampshire (NH). Once installed, Renewal by Andersen®
Boston representatives work with residents to ensure
proper use over the product’s lifetime.
ENERGY STAR Qualified
Renewal by Andersen® replacement windows also meet
ENERGY STAR® performance criteria
for all climate regions of the U.S. Every Renewal by
Andersen® window uses High-Performance® Low-E4™
glass. High-Performance
Low-E4 glass is, on average, 45 percent more energy
efficient in summer and 35 percent more energy efficient
in winter than standard dual-pane windows.
ENERGY STAR is a voluntary labeling partnership
of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and
the Department of Energy (DOE). Products with the ENERGY
STAR label are designed to use less energy, help consumers
save money on energy bills and protect the environment.
According to the DOE, ENERGY STAR qualified windows
are 40 percent more energy efficient than products required
under the most common national building codes. Plus,
installing ENERGY STAR windows and doors can reduce
energy bills by as much as 15 percent. To be ENERGY
STAR qualified, all Renewal by Andersen® windows
display the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC)
label. Renewal by Andersen® was the first window
replacement company to NFRC-certify its products on
a national scale. NFRC is an independent, non-profit
organization that has established tests and ratings
of windows, doors and skylights making it easy for homeowners
to compare windows for energy efficiency.
Renewal by Andersen® Commitment
to the Environment
As leading ENERGY STAR replacement window and door manufacturers,
Renewal by Andersen® continues to keep the environment
and energy efficiency as key factors in future product
development by continuously improving material use and
reuse, waste management, emissions and recycling.
