About Lexington
Lexington is a town in Middlesex County, in Massachusetts. The town was originally a parish called Cambridge Farms. It was incorporated as a separate town in 1713 and renamed Lexington.
The first shot of the American Revolution occurred at the Battle of Lexington on April 19, 1775. Historical landmarks include the Old Burying Ground, with gravestones dating back to 1690, Munroe Tavern (circa 1695), and the Old Belfry, Buckman Tavern (circa 1704-1710).
Lexington is home to the National Heritage Museum and the 900-acre Minute Man National Historical Park.
