About Cherry Hill

Cherry Hill is a township in Camden County, New Jersey. It is located in the Delaware Valley coastal plain approximately five miles east of Philadelphia. Cherry Hill is known as an “edge city” of Philadelphia.

The area was originally settled by Native Americans who coexisted with Quakers, the first settlers from England in the late 1600's. In 1844, the municipality was founded and originally called Delaware Township. The name 'Cherry Hill', named for a 19th century farm, was chosen by the township's citizens in 1961.
