About Phoenixville

Phoenixville is located in Chester County, Pennsylvania. The borough is located 28 miles northwest of Philadelphia. It is situated where the French Creek and the Schuylkill River meet.

Phoenixville was originally settled in 1732 as Manavon, and then incorporated as a borough and renamed Phoenixville in 1849. In the early twentieth century, the area was an important manufacturing center to great iron mills such as the Phoenix Iron Works, and the famous Etruscan majolica pottery factory.

Popular locations for residents include Valley Forge Park and both the Perkiomen and Schulykill River trails.  The Dogwood Festival draws crowds from Phoenixville and surrounding areas every year in May.
