clean the glass using a mild detergent, cleaning solution,
or vinegar. Using a soft cloth or paper towel, wipe

Cleaning Renewal by Andersen® Window Sashes
& Fibrex® Frames
Renewal by Andersen® Fibrex®
frames, hardware, weather stripping, insect screens,
and other replacement window components are covered
under a ten-year limited warranty. *As such, Richmond,
Fredericksburg, and Hanover, Central Virginia (VA) homeowners
can rest assured knowing their Fibrex® frames will
not rust, flake, peel, pit, or corrode under normal
use and window components such as hardware, will be
free of manufacturer defects. * Even so, cleaning will
help maintain the beauty and durability of your Renewal
by Andersen® window, especially for areas with a
high percentage of airborne contaminants. To clean a
window replacement, first consult the owner’s
manual for sash use, and then remove dust, soot, salt,
and dirt using a rag and mild detergent. Should your
replacement window contain hinges, be sure to remove
any present debris and check for adequate lubrication.
Caring for Window Replacement Hardware
To preserve the finish of Renewal by Andersen® hardware,
avoid abrasive cleaners and brushes when cleaning the
locks, lifts, and handles. A soft rag and mild detergent
will suffice for the majority of fine metal finishes.
However, if your Central Virginia (VA) home features
oil-rubbed or distressed bronze hardware, maintain sheen
and deepen hardware hues with the periodic application
of mechanics oil. It is also imperative to check for
and address any hardware looseness to prevent damage
and screw stripping.
